SALTS

Sourcing high quality salts is a challenging task and Paras has gained an expertise on the same. Having a stringent GMP compliant process helps us in catering to the demand of high quality products.

IODIZED/NON-IODIZED SEA SALT

This is the regular refined salt that we consume daily in our food. We offer salt which may be up to 100% fine having a minimum purity level of 98%.

HIMALAYAN ROCK SALT (SENDHA NAMAK)
It is whitish pink in colour with lower sodium content than table salt with 94 trace minerals as opposed to just the three that are in common table salt. It is being used extensively by food companies to get better health claims on their labels by lowering the sodium content of their products. Apart from food, it also finds its application in Ayurvedic medicines to treat various health disorders.

Since it is difficult to source high quality Sendha Namak due to the unorganised sector, Paras procures and processes it under stringent quality control conditions.

BLACK SALT (KALA NAMAK)

It is a salty and pungent-smelling (sulphurous) condiment used in South Asia. Black salt or Kala Namak is dark brown (almost black) coloured crystalline salt that changes to a pinkish grey powder once it is ground up. Its unique taste helps it find useful in aerated beverages too.
Paras procure and process black salt under rigorous quality control disciplines, to free it from dust, hair and other foreign materials. We offer it as fine as 120# pass having a minimum purity level of 97.5%.

SUGAR

Sugar is an important and versatile food ingredient. In addition to providing a sweet taste and rounded flavour, sugar performs a variety of functions in food products. It is also used as a preservative, where sugar inhibits the growth of microorganisms. Paras Spices procures and processes sugar to the finest of sizes (40# pass) under tight quality control checks with a minimum purity level of 98%.

DRIED STARCHES

Dried Starches like corn and tapioca find their applications in various food products as a thickening agent. But to make them usable as an ingredient in dry blends or premixes, their moisture content must be brought down to <5%. Paras uses its state-of-the-art, fully-automated flash drying facility to make it regulatory and customer compliant.

DRY FRUITS

Raisins are sweet, succulent and dried seedless grapes. They can vary in size and are green, golden, brown or dark depending on the grape variety used and the method of drying. They find their applications in various bakery products, creamy Indian milk-based puddings such as processed vermicelli or rice pudding or by in cereal based products like Muesli.

To get uniform coloured products with minimum foreign bodies is a challenging task. At Paras, the raw material is procured from approved suppliers and is processed through cleaning of foreign bodies, sieving and then eliminating ferrous and metallic residue through magnets and metal detectors on the packaging line. It undergoes testing at all levels starting from Organoleptic, chemical-physical to microbiology in the in-house and external laboratory as per regulatory and customer’s specifications.

DRIED LEGUMES & POWDERS

Finding their application in creation of various Indian snacks and namkeens, dried legumes and their powders are processed in Paras using traditional stone mill grinders. These grinders help in retaining the flavour and achieve the desired texture.
